Thank you to all who attended our Job Fair on Saturday, October 24th! We will be calling you to set up interviews throughout the preseason--and during the season as well--as positions become available in your preferred departments.

Boston Mills, Brandywine and Polar Blast hire employees to fill part time, seasonal positions in all
departments. (See job descriptions below for details.) You must be at
least 16 years old in order to work for us. The rate of pay for new
hires is currently $7.30/hour.
 

If you did not make it to the Job Fair, you are still welcome to download, print and fill out our 2009/2010 BMBW Employment Application and drop it off at the Info Office at Boston Mills.  Please note, however, that Job Fair attendees will receive first consideration for any open positions at BMBW.


The Departments that build the team at BMBW:

Equipment Rental

When you become a member of the BMBW Rental Department please be aware of how much FUN you will experience at work!  This position within BMBW calls for an outgoing and upbeat personality that assists our guests in receiving the right equipment and adjusting to fit to their individual needs.  The Rental department suits all ages (16+) and will offer you an opportunity to develop your customer interaction skills as well as learning and understanding snow equipment.  This department may assist in a variety of job duties throughout the resort with the common goal of creating an excellent experience for each guest that visits BMBW!

After you have mastered Equipment Rental and want to advance your skills within our snow equipment services…a shop technician position may be perfect for you!  This position demands excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.  You will interact with customers of all ages and respond to specific individual requests regarding tuning, waxing and mounting of personal equipment.  

PolarBlast Snowtubing

This Outdoor position within BMBW will provide many smiles, lots of laughter and an opportunity to create fun-filled memories for each and every guest at BMBW.  PolarBlast staff will guide our guests in the loading of the magic carpet lift, maintaining flow of the tubing lanes and assisting within the daily lodge tasks.  We would like to note that the most important job requirement of a PolarBlast employee is to have fun with our guests!

Snowmaker/Maintenance

Do you have experience with heavy equipment operations? Working Outdoors? Knowledge of power tools/machines? Enjoy a physical challenge?  Our Snowmaking/Maintenance department may compliment your work history experience and utilize your personal skills.   This position allows staff to work outdoors and assist with many job requirements throughout both Boston Mills and Brandywine.  This department may work with our guests on daily basis and as a part of our team we emphasize the importance of displaying excellent customer service to each and every guest at BMBW!

Food and Beverage

Do you have knowledge of the food service industry and want to continue improving on your skills?  Or just have an interest of working entry level with food?  Our food and beverage department at BMBW prepares all cooked foods, serves and maintains high quality product to each guest.  This department assists with maintaining an inviting facility along with creating an enjoyable experience for our guests.  We do offer a lounge to our guests at Boston Mills and Brandywine where our food & beverage staff serve and prepare additional food items.  The position within food & beverage may suit the ages (16+) and one job duty of washing dishes is a Food & Beverage responsibility.  As a member of our food service department it is important to recognize that we follow all Health Department codes to provide the highest quality product.  

Cash Office Clerk

If you have a knack for numbers and the will to succeed, the cash office clerk may be just the position you are looking for!  You will be responsible of processing daily revenue by verifying seller receipts and sales, balancing deposits, and entering data into computer.  As a cash office clerk, you will help keep the resort running smoothly by maintaining a balanced vault inventory, providing change to sales locations as needed, reconciles cash sheets from various sales locations by comparing the counted receipts to reported sales, and preparing daily bank deposits.  As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee job is to get and keep guests.

Ticket Seller/ Cashier

Do you have customer service and cash handling experience?  As a ticket seller you will be the first one greeting our guests.  You will be responsible for the selling of lift tickets, packages, season passes, accurate dispensing of information, and accurate balancing of daily sales drawer.  Keyboarding skills are helpful.  Also, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate knowledge of various rates, discounts, promotions, and maintaining the ticket booth interior and exterior.  Contributing to team effort job sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees are expected every day you work.

Information Representative

Are you a friendly and outgoing person?  Do you have a ready smile, positive attitude, and high energy?  We need you!  Information Representative is responsible for greeting and helping the guests by providing information on location and on the phone.  Other duties include updating weather and snow conditions, offering suggestions, giving directions and answering the guest’s questions in a professional and helpful manner.  Providing awareness to guests about safety, resolving face-to-face discrepancies, and maintaining control of guest line/queue.

Park Crew

The Park Crew staff at BMBW strive to provide the highest quality freestyle terrain to all our guests at BMBW.  This outdoor position compliments an individual that is familiar with building, maintaining and utilizing freestyle terrain. The Park Crew position may be physically challenging and face all outdoor weather conditions.   The goal of our Park Crew is to provide a safe and fun snow/rail/feature terrain for our experienced to beginner riders!

Personnel Office

The BMBW Personnel Office is responsible for organizing, maintaining and donating all lost and found items.  As a staff member in personnel you must assist with the daily time keeping records and file the data accordingly.  The Personnel staff assists the Human Resource/Payroll Director in daily job duties, which may include but are not limited to filing, employment paperwork, and employment references.  This office is responsible for paycheck distribution, completion of Hire for Payroll packets (federal/state tax forms), uniform sales and uniform inventory.  

Applications that are received will also be stored and filed in the personnel office in addition to hiring staff for all the departments within the resort.  The Personnel staff must be familiar with hosting an interview, job placement, judge of character in a work environment and completion of employment paperwork.  We may assist with any other job duties affiliated with other departments at BMBW and we strive to provide exceptional customer service to all our guests and staff!

SnowSports Office

The Snowsports Office at BMBW works directly with the ski/snowboard instructors and each guest inquiring about participating in a lesson.  It is beneficial to this position if you have knowledge of skiing and snowboarding.  Some individual qualities that this position requires are 18 years of age, problem solving skills, personable disposition and experience in displaying good customer service.  This Snowsports Office allows each of our guests to learn to ski/snowboard and the ability to create smiles as new clientele learn to love the sport as much as we do!    

Lift Operations

Do you enjoy working outdoors in cold temperatures for an extended period of time?  Then this is the position for you. This position requires you to dress appropriately to work outdoors and may require you to work some and/or all weekends and winter holidays.  We encourage anyone 16 years of age & older to consider working as a Lift Attendant. This position allows direct involvement with our customers by assisting them to load & unload safely on the lifts and learn how to deal with special cases, such as children and handicapped skiers.  You'll learn the lift's operational procedures and be asked to perform but not limited to many of the following job duties:

  • Shovel snow, a lot of snow
  • Continuously maintain the condition of lift mazes, loading and unloading platforms
  • Work positively with all resort departments and staff
  • Maintain a positive and helpful attitude towards guests.
  • Maintaining slope cleanliness
  • Lift line control
  • Set up and removal of safety fences
  • Checking snow tickets
  • Complete all daily lift paperwork neatly
  • Act as a parking attendant

Are you an advanced skier/snowboarder wishing to teach a BMBW guest how to ride?  We would like to welcome you to speak with our Snowsports department regarding training, techniques and specific guidelines of employment as an independent contractor for BMBW.  The information may viewed at www.bmbw.info and we want to thank you for your interest in employment!
