New This Season
What’s New for 2008/2009
@ Boston Mills & Brandywine Resorts
Lodge at Polar Blast
One of our main projects this off-season has been the construction of a brand new day lodge at our snow-tubing facility, Polar Blast. The 3200 square foot structure will feature a food and beverage service area, warming area, restroom facilities, ticket windows and an absolutely awesome view of the tube hill. This new space will provide a great spot for our tubers to warm-up, take a break and grab some food & drink. One will still find our outdoor pavilion adjacent to the new lodge with our fire-pit, sound system and gathering spot for all! All is looking quite nice over at Polar Blast…check back soon for some updated photos of our progress.
Terrain Park Focus
Our commitment towards free-style terrain continues here at BMBW as we roll towards 08/09. The crew has been busy building a few new rails and boxes…and more elements will be introduced later this fall. A new feature of interest we can let you in on right now is a brand new Wall Ride! One of our sister resorts out East was kind enough to provide us some proven specs, and this feature will certainly be a quality addition to our scene in Ohio. Photos of this unit and others will be available soon…stay tuned!
Special Events
We had some wonderful events last season…and even more is in-store for 08/09. Our calendar is near completion and will be posted soon. Plus, be on the look-out for the all new Peak Series of Competitions. Details to follow on this new event, but we can tell you that the winners will be representing BMBW at Big Boulder in March of 2009.
Snowmaking Improvements
We have also been busy with several snowmaking system upgrades. This includes a few thousand feet of new pipe installation to replace some older sections and also upgrades to several of our snowmachines. What does this mean for you? More FIREPOWER = More SNOW!!
Lift Improvements
You’ll notice Lifts 4 & 5 at Mills got a new “skin” (aka paint) this summer. We also have brand new chairs coming soon for a couple of lifts at Brandywine. It was quite a busy off-season with much lift work which will truly be a great thing…when the snow flies!! Nice job, fellas…things are looking good!
... and More!
We’ll keep filling you in on other improvements, upgrades and plans as we move along into the fall. Please keep checking back with us for updates!
