2008 Winter Carnival Events and Winners:

Firehose Race

Teams of 4 will ski and/or snowboard through a very gentle slalom course. All teammates must be holding the firehose through the entire race, and each team gets 1 run through the course. 10:30am on Buttermilk. Registration 9am-10am. You must register as a team. Under 18 must have a parental signature on registration release. Check-In at top of Buttermilk at 10:15am.

Garbage Bag Race

Racers must be IN a garbage bag in some form. (As a toboggan, like a sleeping bag, as a cape, etc.) The garbage bag is your equipment to get down the hill--no skis, snowboards or FEET can be used. (We supply the bags). Fastest person down Summit wins! 11am on Buttermilk. Registration 9am-10:30am. The comp will have 2 divisions: Ages 12 & Under, and ages 13 & over. Under 18 must have a parental signature on registration release. Check-In at bottom of Summit 10:50am.

Mogul Comp

Try your luck at our Mogul Comp! Get down through the mogul field FAST--and with style!--and you just might win! 12pm on Tiger. Registration 9am-11:30am. Under 18 must have a parental signature on registration release. Check-In at top of Tiger 11:50am.

Rail Jam

Rail Jam... on the new railset on Summit! 1pm Jam begins. Registration 9am-12pm. Cost: $5. First 75 entrants accepted. HELMETS REQUIRED. Under 18 must have a parental signature on registration release. Practice 12:15-12:45pm Rider Meeting 12:45pm at bottom of rail set. 45 minutes of the jam, followed by finals.

Bikini Race

Participants must ski/board down Buttermilk, make your way around the gates, and complete the obstacle course at the end. 2pm on Summit. Registration 9am-1pm. 18 & Over only. Open to Girls & Guys--bikinis for the girls, bikinis or boxers for the guys. Check in at the top of Buttermilk at 1:45pm.

The Slosh Pit!

What's the aim of the Slosh Pit? To make it across without getting wet!!! 3pm on Tiger. Registration 9am-2pm. Limited to first 75 entries. No rental equipment allowed in the Slosh Pit competition. Under 18 must have a parental signature on registration release. Check in at the bottom of Tiger at 2:45pm

Best of Show:
Jerry O'Connor (Jerry had the most impressive of TWO 180's that competitors managed to do coming out of the Pit!)
Superman Award: Scott Terrell
Note that we made up the "Superman Award" just for Scott this year, as he dove back into the pit, cape and all, after making it across. This is a one-time award--diving back in next year will get you nothing but WET and COLD!

Costume Contest

No Need to Register--we'll be passing out invitations to the 20-30 "Best Dressed" among our guests all throughout the day! (BMBW Employees will have their own separate contest with invitations.) Prizes given to the top 3 costumes, as determined by audience applause. Finals @ 4:30pm on the snow near the bar deck.
