Club Program
Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski Resort's 2009/2010 Club Program is for upper elementary, junior and senior high school students who are at least 8 years old by Jan 1, 2010.
The season-long club program is the most heavily discounted program at Boston Mills/Brandywine, offering savings of approximately $400.00 over the standard snow/lift, rental equipment and lesson price!
PROGRAM BASICS
Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski Resort offers a season-long Club Program for upper elementary, junior and senior high school students who are at least 8 years old by Jan 1, 2010. The package includes time on the slopes, equipment rental (if applicable) and lessons.
Boston Mills/Brandywine guarantees five sessions to gain up to 5 lessons for beginners, intermediates and advanced level students. Sessions are 4 hours long. Clubs and lessons are scheduled at specified times at either Boston Mills or Brandywine. An advisor must accompany the club for its first five sessions, and students must arrive at their regularly scheduled time and depart together after the session. Individual make-up lessons are not available for any reason. However, if BMBW must cancel, a make-up session will be scheduled.
Clubs begin in January, as determined by BMBW, and continue to the end of the season. You should always check with your advisor to confirm your start date and to find out whether your club is attending its regularly scheduled session for the week.
After the 5th Session
After the fifth session or February 9th (whichever is later) students are permitted to come anytime on their scheduled day for the remainder of the season at no additional cost at either Boston Mills or Brandywine. Rental equipment is included if applicable. Necktags must be worn as admission, so make sure you get yours from your Club Advisor.
LESSONS
Each participant’s school tag must be validated with a colored sticker indicating the participant’s ability level on the first session. This includes returning students. No exceptions. The sticker is color-coded green, blue or black to correspond with the relative difficulty of each slope at Boston Mills and Brandywine. Students are not permitted to ski or ride on slopes with a difficulty rating higher than their proficiency level as indicated by their sticker, unless in a lesson accompanied by an instructor.
Terrain Guide
Where Can You Ski/Ride @ BMBW? That depends on your sticker level! Check out our guide for details:
TAGS & TICKETS
All students are given a permanent tag for the season which bears the student’s name, club name, ability level, and rental info if applicable, and must be visible at all times. With this tag, the non-renter can proceed directly to the slopes and the renter directly to the rental department for equipment.
Tags are valid only for the day and time period for which the club has been scheduled, and tag use is restricted to the person whose name it bears. STUDENTS MAY NOT TRANSFER THE USE OF THEIR LIFT, LESSON OR RENTAL SERVICES TO ANY OTHER PERSON AT ANY TIME. Students must stay on the type of equipment they indicated at signup any time they are attending BMBW using their club tags, even after the fifth session. Misuse will result in the loss of privileges.
All tags are the responsibility of the club member, and lost tags will not be replaced without good cause. In the event BMBW does replace a lost tag, there is a $10.00 replacement charge. Tags will not be replaced for any reason if lost after the club completes its fifth lesson.
One Day Tags
A one day tag will be issued one time only if a student should forget his/her club tag and is accompanied by the club advisor. One day tags will not be issued after the fifth session, and will never be issued without an advisor.
Warning Tickets
Warning tickets may be issued to students for disciplinary reasons, including skiing or riding out of control. Snowball throwing and foul language will NOT be tolerated while on BMBW property. If a warning ticket is issued, both the student and advisor must be present to claim the student’s permanent necktag at the Club Office on the following session. If a second warning is given, the necktag will be permanently revoked with no refund.
Freebie Passcards
Each club member, excluding Summit and Season passholders, will receive a passcard which entitles them to three free tickets at times other than their regularly scheduled club session. If rental was purchased with the Club Program package, then the freebie card tickets include rental as well, if needed. There will be a $10.00 charge to replace lost freebie passcards.
The freebie passcard tickets can be used for snow tubing at Polar Blast, LateNight sessions at Brandywine, or All Day snow/lift tickets at either Boston Mills or Brandywine. Freebie passcards must be presented at our ticket window by the student whose name appears on the card. Students may use the ticket(s) themselves, or transfer any of their ticket(s) to friends or family members. All three tickets may be used at one time.
EQUIPMENT
Students must stay on the type of equipment they indicated at signup any time they are attending BMBW using their school club tag.
If you’re looking to purchase your own gear this year, a great place to start is at the BMBW Open House, October 16th, 17th & 18th at Boston Mills. During Open House, Buckeye Sports Center offers huge deals on ski and snowboard packages, and the BMBW Ski Patrol runs a swap shop where you can pick up some nice used gear, too. For more information on Open house, visit www.bmbw.com.
Renters
For beginner students, renting is the best and most economical introduction to skiing or snowboarding. Students renting equipment proceed directly to the rental department with their school tags visible. Our employees will select the proper equipment quickly and efficiently!
All rental equipment is individually marked for easy identification, and its pickup and return is recorded each week on the student’s tag. Failure to return rental equipment will result in loss of privileges for the following week and a replacement charge.
Owners
For those students who have their own boards, metal edges and a leash are required. Owners requiring a one-day rental may do so for an additional fee. Snowbladers must own their own equipment--snowblade rental is not available in this program, even on a one-day basis. Big Feet, Snowrunners, Sled Dogs, etc. are not permitted in the Club Program.
RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, AND STAYING COMFORTABLE ON THE SLOPES
The Responsibility Code below is a partial list, and in addition to the items below you should always be respectful to your fellow skiers and riders. Snowball throwing and the use of foul language will not be tolerated at BMBW. Be safety conscious and courteous at all times! REMEMBER: RESPECT GETS RESPECT!
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY CODE:
1. Always stay in control and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
2. People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.
3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.
4. Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.
5. Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely.
