Race Clinics
BMBW offers its Learn to Race Clinics from 7pm-9pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Lessons for skiers are held all three nights at Boston Mills, and lessons for snowboarders are held on Tuesday nights only at Brandywine. In this weekly program you will learn the tools to improve your skiing and racing ability for any condition you encounter on the slopes.
Our staff promotes a “keep moving” environment with plenty of activities on our race hills. Come learn all the race aspects from start to finish, or just use our training course for pleasure. We try to accommodate all. The key to success in this program is communication so tell us what you want. If it is technical jargon you like we can go techie. If you like to use the K.I.S (keep it simple) method instead, well, so do we!
The important thing to remember is that ski racing and snowboard racing are individual sports. We do have some group activities throughout the evening, but most of your race experience will be on an individualized basis. The intensity of this program is set by the participant.
Racing creates a new challenge on our trails, so safety is of the utmost importance. Snow conditions will dictate clinic activities. Please attend with properly adjusted and tuned equipment!
Race Clinics include:
-
(6) 2-1/2 hour lessons. Race Clinics are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Boston Mills for skiers. The Snowboard Race Clinic is held at Brandywine on Tuesdays. All Race Clinics are held from from 6:30pm to 9pm. Tuesday Race Clinics begin 1/5/10; Wednesday Race Clinic starts 1/6/10; Thursday Race Clnic begins 1/7/10.
Race Clinic students must attend the same session time for the entire six weeks. Supervision is not provided before or after the lessons. The program includes lessons only and each participant must have his or her own valid lift ticket. You may sign up for one or both nights. Make-up lessons are not available if a student is absent from a regularly scheduled class. However, if Boston Mills/Brandywine must cancel, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.
How to Sign up for Race Clinics:
Program size is limited and reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis until the program is full or until the program deadline of December 15, 2009. Proof of age may be required.
The best time to sign up for Race Clinics is Open House Weekend--Oct. 16, 17 & 18--because Open House pricing is the best pricing available for all of our passes and programs! No telephone or mail orders are accepted for Open House prices. You must buy in person at Boston Mills or purchase online during that weekend to receive Open House pricing. No exceptions.

PLEASE NOTE: When you sign up for the program, you will be required to provide a valid email address. We use email to communicate throughout the season with you; typically, our weekly program emails include reminders of the weekly theme and upcoming special program events, and we also send a few emails at the beginning of the season to make sure you are ready to get started on the slopes! In the rare instance that a Clinic needs to be canceled for the week, we use email to let you know. We may also let you know about events and passes that are tailored to you... but we keep those to a minimum (no more than a handful each year) because we know just how busy people are these days! We NEVER sell, rent, or otherwise share your email address.
